Areas of Expertise

Currently there are three main streams of research in my Paediatric INR work:

  • National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) grant funded retrospective assessment of neurodevelopmental outcomes in neonates with Vein of Galen Malformation (VGAM). This is nearing completion, and when published will be the largest published series of neonatal VGAM.
  • Assessment of outcomes in Intra-arterial chemotherapy for Retinoblastoma.
  • Aneurysms treated with flow diverting stents in paediatric patients.

I was an investigator for the PISTE study (Pragmatic Ischaemic Stroke Thrombectomy).  I am also an investigator for the VIST trial (Vertebral artery Ischaemia Stenting Trial).

I have developed the technique of direct trans-orbital puncture for treatment of cartico-cavernous fistulas, becoming the only operator to perform this procedure in the UK.
